I’ve been there, too.
I’ll start with the obvious: going through a divorce is a life-changing event. I know because I’ve been there both as child of divorced parents and as a divorcée.
But here’s the thing: it doesn’t define who we are!
After 2 beautiful children and 22 years of marriage – including 8 long years of a deteriorating marriage – my husband and I finally split. And when I say split, I mean this was The End: it wasn’t just about the stuff we owned, it was our emotional attachments, our relationships with mutual friends and families, and (for me, at least) a sense of self that didn’t seem to fit anymore. Before our divorce, I always envisioned a life and future that included growing old with my husband in our beautiful home and sharing the joys of our children together. I had not written my story to include a life of “his” versus “hers.”
During and after my divorce, I found myself spending far too many days unmotivated, sleeping long hours with no clue how to navigate this new, uncharted phase of my life. I didn’t know who could help me answer the question “what’s next?”.
Becoming a Divorce Coach was part destiny and part circumstance (the “Coach” part being destiny, and “Divorce” only circumstance, of course!). Growing up, I was my friends’ and family’s go-to listener and advice-giver. People trusted me then – and have since – and I consider connecting with others to be one of my greatest gifts.
After having a 12-year career rising to the top ranks in the fashion industry, serving as a business coach to my husband, dedicating time to my kids and serving as an informal life coach to family and friends, it became clear to me that I had a calling: professional coaching. My passion and ambition for helping others create new successes in their lives sent me to The Institute for Professional Excellence in Coaching (IPEC), where I earned my professional coach certification and ELI-MP, gaining the tools and techniques needed to help my clients gain clarity, create sustainable goals, and move forward in their lives – no matter how difficult their challenges.
I am a certified, ACC, member of the International Coach Federation (ICF).
For me, it’s far from being about getting out of bed every day anymore. It’s about making each day count, looking ahead and leaving the fear, stress, and overwhelm in the past. I am here to help you get through the new-life-building, “what’s next?” side of the divorce process – from the emotional, confidence-building side of things to the physical, inner-beauty-meets-outer-beauty makeover and more.
Because even if you’re not ready for it, tomorrow will come!
“Always, always, always believe in yourself,
because if you don’t, then who will, sweetie?”
Why use a divorce coach?
Oftentimes in life, we lean on friends and family members to help us through difficult transitions. It makes sense, they know us deeply and we trust that have good intentions.
However, friends and family aren’t the best people to turn to. They may have their own agenda - their own beliefs, judgments, or thoughts about what's best for you.
As your divorce coach, I work with you to help you decide your best next step.
I’m here to help you rediscover your beliefs, values, and purpose in life – and help you bring the "new you" into action.
I can help if you:
- Feel alone or vulnerable in the divorce process and want to have an objective and supportive partner to hold your hand along the way
- Feel consumed by intense emotions and are having difficulty finding clarity and strength
- Are committed to a healthy transition for yourself and your children and are seeking professional support to achieve this goal
- Recognize that old patterns and habits are no longer working, and are ready to try something new
- Are tired of feeling scared, angry, resentful, sad or lonely, and want to find clarity and strength and claim an authentic, joy-filled life!
- Have the desire to connect with your childlike energy and reinvent yourself
- Want direction on how to create a new vision for your future
As a professional coach, I use my intuitive listening to help you better understand your patterns, choices and decisions in order to create a new paradigm for yourself. It is not a quick fix; it is a life transformation.
